Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management (SACCM), sponsored by the Vardhman Group, is affiliated to the Panjab University, Chandigarh. The College offers B.Com, B.Com. (Hons.) and B.B.A. Programmes. SACCM aims at developing business leadership and effective management competencies in order to develop youth as leaders of tomorrow, capable of responding effectively to challenging and dynamic business environment.

The College organised a cross country race “Run for Fitness” on 5th November 2011 with the objective to make the students conscious of importance of fitness in daily routines. More than 500 students and all the faculty members of the college participated in the race. The race was flagged by Dr R L Behl – Principal of the College. All the students and faculty members wore specially designed T-Shirts bearing college insignia to mark the event. The boys covered the total distance of 5 Kilometer whereas the girls covered 3.7 kilometers in this run. Among the boys, Rahul Chhabra of BBA III was the winner whereas Agyapal Singh Guliani of BBA I and Karan Ajmani of B Com III won the second and third places respectively. Among the girls Jasleen Kaur Thandi who was the winner of last year again secured first position and Chhavi Jindal of B Com I stood second and Sukhdeep Kaur Grewal of B Com I stood third. Col P S Choudhry Director – Education appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and motivated them to participate in sports and co curricular activities also. |

The Panjab University, Chandigarh organized Zonal Youth Festival of Ludhiana Zone – A at Arya College, Ludhiana from 27 September to 30 September 2011. Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management participated in 17 selected items out of total 44 items of the Youth and Heritage Festival. The results of the competitions are mentioned as below:

The Intra College Quiz Contest was held on 6th September 2011.In first phase the preliminary round was conducted on 1st September, 2011. It was a written test in which 35 teams participated. On the basis of test results top six teams qualified for the main quiz. The qualifying teams were from, B.Com I, B.Com II, B.Com III (2teams), BBA II and BBA III. The main quiz comprised of 6 rounds covering topics from current affairs, science, sports, history, Polity, Geography, Economy, geography, literature, art and culture. It was a closely fought contest. Ultimately the team from B.Com I (Anmol Jain, Rahul Garg and Siddharth Jain) stood first, Second position was bagged by BBA III team (Baljeet Singh, Archit Jain and Rahul Chhabra) and B.Com III (Arjun Thukral, Flexonneel Paul and Ansh Jain) bagged the third position. |

With an objective to identify and hone talent of our students in various fields, a two day long ‘Cultural Fest cum Talent Hunt Competition-2011’ was organized on 05 September and 06 September, 2011 in the College. The fest started with Lamp lighting by Dr. R.L.Behl, principal and the faculty members, followed by Sarswati Vandana and Shabad to seek blessings of the Almighty for the successful conduct of the programme. Students of Ek Prayas (school for special children) also gave a wonderful performance. Their teacher addressed our students telling about the school. Total twenty events were held. Fine Arts events like Poster Making, Cartooning and Rangoli and Collage Making; Creative Writing events like Essay Writing, Short Story Writing and Poem Writing, Literary Events like Debate and Elocution; Theatrical Events like Plays and Heritage events like Mehandi and the Folk dances like Giddha were held. This year new events that were introduced On The Spot Photography, Classical Dance, skits, Geet, Ghazal, Drama, Mimicry, On The Spot Painting and clay modeling keeping in view the events to be held at Youth Festival. It was an Inter Class competition. There was very close competition in all the events and all the teams performed very well. Students were motivated and guided by the respective teacher in charges, the students themselves put in lot of hard work through rehearsals and practice. Some outsourcing was also done for training in events like Bhangra. The performances have improved both in numbers as well as in quality. The Teams Trophy was bagged by the Team of B.Com Third Year and B.Com First year was declared the First runner up and B.Com Second Year was declared the Second runner up for this entire event. Winners were given certificates and trophy was awarded to the winning class i.e. B.Com Third year. The list of the winners (event wise) is as follows:
